If you want to replace those store-bought versions, try this combination of herbs and beans. It's perfect over cornbread or you can eat it with potato salad.
2½ cup navy beans 7 cup water 3½ cup tomatoes ½ cup tomato paste 2 tsp salt 3 tbsp honey 2 tbsp molasses 1 tsp basil 1 tbsp parsley 2 tsp onion powder
Put the beans in a large kettle. Add the water and soak them overnight. Add all the ingredients and cook on medium to low, until tender. You may need to add more water. Transfer to a casserole dish and bake for 1-3 hours at 350°F or until the liquid is thick.
