Oat Burgers

Oat Burgers

There are lots of versions of these oat burgers. Made with an oat base they are so versatile you can almost add anything. They make an excellent take along for that picnic lunch or that long flight!

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Heat the water, herbamare and olive oil to boiling. Add the oats. Cook for 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • Add the potato, onion powder, yeast flakes and bread crumbs. Stir well then add soy milk if the mixture is dry.
  • Remove from the stove and let cool a little. Form into patties using a round ¼ cup measure to make uniform patties. Place on PAM-sprayed cookie sheet and bake at 350°F for 30 to 45 minutes (turn after 15 or 20 minutes) until nicely browned.

Notes

Tips:
If desired add a cup of grated carrot or other vegetables to make it more like a vegetable burger.
When using measuring the burgers onto the baking tray spay a little oil or grease the ¼ cup measure to stop it from sticking. This will also make the patties more manageable.
