Eat this delicious tofu dish with plain rice, vegan spring rolls, and stir fry.
1 cup water
1/3 cup maple syrup
2 cloves crushed garlic
1/4 cup yeast flakes
2 tsp herbamare seasoning salt
1/2 Tbsp ginger powder or 3 Tbsp fresh minced ginger
pinch of cayenne pepper
1 block firm tofu
1. Mix all ingredients together, except tofu.
2. Slice tofu to make tofu slices. Dry them with paper towel. Lay them in a large shallow baking dish. Cover with the ginger sauce and bake at 350f until the juice has become thick and there is no water left- about 20 minutes to half an hour.
3. Use a spatula to transfer the tofu strips to a serving plate.
